And it's a ...........

So it's been a long time since I've updated our blog, so what better way to get back into the groove of things than to give an update on where things are at in our pregnancy?! So far this pregnancy has been absolutely amazing. I haven't had any complications other than the normal morning sickness and general discomfort in my back. We are now 21 weeks along and had our big ultrasound appointment earlier today. Alyssa is always excited to get to see the baby any chance we get and always insists that the doctor check her tummy for a baby! She really is adorable and the nurses usually indulge her by sticking the stethoscope to her belly and send her off with a sticker.
As you can see by the pictures below we are having a healthy baby boy! Two eyes, a nose, mouth, healthy heart, healthy lungs, and two big feet! The nurse confirmed what I had been kind of fearing by telling us he was measuring slightly bigger than average but not enough to change the due date! All I can say is keep those drugs a coming! Lol however I feel very happy and blessed to have a healthy baby on the way. I just hope he doesn't come out an 11 pounder like I've been told David did!

Halloween 2010

This year we had to opportunity to spend Halloween in California with Matt's wonderful family. The trip was sudden and bittersweet since the purpose was for dear sweet Grandpa Bob's funeral. Although I've only been part of the family a short time, I have a lot of fond memories of him and we will miss him dearly. I know how very proud he was of Matt and how much he loved his whole family and made me feel so welcome right away. I never did get used to his insistence on taking many many pictures but that's what you get when you marry into the Henry family as I am becoming more accustomed to.

I wish I had more pictures of our trip but I believe I'm the only one that hasn't gotten used to carrying a camera around. Alyssa had so much fun picking out a costume from MiMi's treasure trove even though mommy brought two girly costumes from home. She insisted on being the purple dragon and she was too adorable to force into a fairy costume. (It'll still be good for dress up I suppose!) It was so nice to watch her with her cousins and she was absolutely FASCINATED with her little cousin Scarlett!

First Haircut!

Today we had Alyssa's hair cut for the very first time! We were very lucky to have had beautician for a neighbor so we had her do the honors of the first cut! I have to say I was a little nervous to have her hair cut. I watched her transform from my prescious baby girl to my beautiful little girl. Needless to say, I did tear up a little bit but she absolutely loves her new haircut and I think she is the most adorable little girl in the world. I admit I may be a little biast but I have many people around me to confirm what I already know! It was cute to watch her expressions going through the process. She melts my heart with every smile!
